Preserving Leather’s Past. Inspiring Its Future.
LeatherNet is an independent historical archive dedicated to documenting the people, stories, artifacts, traditions, and voices that have shaped the Leather community - so future generations can discover where we’ve been and decide for themselves where we’re going.
Why LeatherNet Exists
Every community deserves to know its own history.
Some of Leather’s history lives in museums.
Some lives in private collections.
Some lives in memories that are fading with time.
LeatherNet exists to help preserve those stories before they’re lost.
We’re building a growing archive of publications, artifacts, interviews, photography, and historical research that celebrates the incredible diversity of Leather culture without attempting to define it.
Our Philosophy
LeatherNet doesn’t tell people what Leather is.
Instead, we preserve what Leather communities have created, experienced, and documented across generations.
Our goal isn’t to define Leather.
Our goal is to document it.
We believe people deserve access to history - not instructions on what conclusions they should draw from it.
How You Can Help
LeatherNet grows because people choose to preserve history together.
You can help by:
Donating vintage magazines or publications
Sharing photographs and event programs
